Non-Heroic Animation Box Office

Not a stellar week for animated features at the box office. "Everyone's Hero" debuted a week ago Friday to lacklustre results... and the returns are lacklustre still. The flick is nudging against $8 million in total box office after eight days of release. Kevin's estimate of $15-20 million final box office tally will probably hold. On the other hand, the national treasure entitled "Jackass II" appears to be picking up some nice coin... Addendum: "Everyone's Hero" slides 21.6% into fifth place. $4,750,000 for the weekend. Tally-to-date: $11,594,000. "Barnyard," down in the fourteenth position for the second weekend in a row, has now crossed the $70 million threshhold.

Although, on The Daily Show Johnny Knoxville said that some of the stunts were inspired by Tom & Jerry and Wile E. Coyote. So, in an offhanded way Jackass II is an animated film (or at least has a connection with that category).

David, unless Knoxville hauls that big-ass rocket he straps himself to out of a box labeled "Acme", I'm not convinced.

I was just wondering tonight when we'd see the next great animated movie. I knew EVERYONE'S HERO wasn't going to fit the bill, and I'm pretty damn sure that the next half-dozen animal CG movies slated for release won't cut the mustard either.

Just a guess, but the NEXT BIG animated movie is going to be...

"Shrek III"

4 out of 5 americans will want to see couragous tomfoolery over the brutally predictable saccharine schlock that is "Everyone's Hero".

jeesh, even the title is pandering.

That's right, 4 out of 5 americans want to see drunk stoners persistently shove things up their anuses and want their kids to see it too! Yay!

I gave this movie a chance, and it is a good movie after all. I dare say I liked it better than Cars!!

As far as Jackass II, I have more than two brain cells in my brain to entertain, so I guess I'll pass on that p.o.s.
